You can keep your iPods, iPads and iPhones. We'll take an Apple Cinema Display over them any day. No they're not as cheap as Dells, and no they're not as precisely adjustable as Eizo or LaCie displays, but in terms of a quality out-of-the-box screen experience, Cinema Displays are second to none.

Apple unleashed a 27-inch LED Cinema Display monster recently and we're anxious to get our hands on one. Boasting 2560 x 1440 resolution and a reported 60 percent of additional screen space compared to the 24-inch version, the new 27-incher will let you review your images in their full glory. It'll also ease the eye strain when surfing the Web or reading contracts.

Other additions include a built-in iSight video camera, a microphone and speakers, and universal MagSafe connector so the display hooks easily into your notebook computer. It's powered by a USB 2.0 hub—sorry, no more FireWire—and features in-plane switching (IPS) to produce sharp images across a 178-degree viewing angle. Though it's a few inches shy of Apple's now long-in-the-tooth 30-inch Cinema HD Display, the 27-inch version provides more than enough room to display the high-def clips you shot with your HD-DSLR and still have space left over for your Final Cut palettes.

The 16:9 edge-to-edge glass display also has pleasing black borders that make your images pop, and is fixed on an aluminum stand with an adjustable hinge to tilt it just the way you want it.

Cost: $999
