If you like printing your photos on unique papers and substrates as much as we do, you'll probably love the Polar Pearl Metallic photo inkjet paper from Red River. Designed to match the look and feel of metallic prints from a photo lab, this 66-pound paper has a high gloss finish and a pearl-like base stock to give your images a unique, eye-popping look.

Though printing on metal paper might sound intimidating, Red River says that Polar Pearl Metallic is compatible with "any inkjet printer" and doesn't require special equipment, inks, or finishing techniques to produce an attractive metallic print. Just insert it into your printer like a regular piece of art paper and you're ready to go.

Red River Paper says it spent several years studying Kodak's Endura Metallic process for photo labs to create a paper with a similar effect for inkjet printers. The paper is currently being sold in 10 different sheet sizes—from 4 x 6 inches to 17 x 25 inches—and rolls of up to 42 inches in width will be available in the next few months. You can also get color profiles for the paper for a variety of printer models online at: www.redriverpaper.com/profiles.

Cost: $26.30-$132.80 (Depending on size and quantity.)
