OBjects: DigiNest

Sunshades to reduce laptop glare have been around for a while now but inventor Phil Li just may have created the best one yet. More of a small portable tent than a mere shade, Li’s device, called DigiNest, is designed to cover your laptop completely to prevent light from leaking in.

If you’ve ever tried to edit images out in the field, you know how annoying glare from the sun can be. Though the curtain on the DigiNest may make it look as if you’re conducting some kind of secret balloting, you’re not forced to insert your head into the hood to see the screen as on some competing shades. Even better, the curtain totally blocks out the sun.

DigiNest also adds a collapsible 47.5-inch support stand so you can shoot freely without having to stop and crouch to look at your laptop. That’s a big plus for outdoor wedding or fashion photographers who also might use the stand to better share photos with clients. When you’re all done shooting, the 10-pound DigiNest folds up for easy transport.

Cost: $149
