Imacon’s Ixpress series is based on Kodak’s medium-format sensor, formerly the basis for Kodak’s excellent pro backs.The Ixpress 528C shoots at 22 megapixels with an ISO of 50 to 400. It captures images in 1-, 4- or 16-shot modes with a maximum exposure time of 32 seconds. The 528C’s battery life lasts up to eight hours with Sony InfoLithium L batteries.
     The entire Ixpress line provides LCD-based image review in a compact package with both single-shot and multi-shot models available. All of the models work with the company’s Ixpress Image Bank, a portable hard drive for direct image capture that can hold hundreds of images. They also have FireWire connectors for transferring images to the Image Bank or while tethered to a computer. The backs are compatible with cameras from Hasselblad, Mamiya, Contax, Fuji and Rollei, or any view camera with a Hasselblad adapter.
