Horseman Conversion Lenses

Ever dreamed of being able to turn your standard lens into a wide-angle or macro lens at a moment's notice? Not only is switching lenses a pain in the butt, but having a lot of specialty glass lying around ain't cheap.

With Horseman's new conversion lenses, getting a different look from your images is as easy and nearly as cheap as using a filter.

Though we can't vouch for the quality—we haven't gotten our hands on test samples to try out—we like the concept. There are seven lenses which range in price from $60 to $120. If you're tired of your 18-55mm zoom lens, try the thin and light 0.7x wide conversion lens to give you a broader perspective. Like all these Horseman conversion products, they screw right onto the filter thread of your lens.

For more versatility, try the 0.6 Wide/Macro, which does double duty as a wide-angle and a close-up converter. Horseman says it has specially designed the lens to cut down on chromatic aberrations in the periphery. For a fisheye/close-up combo, there's the 025x Superwide/Macro; and for extreme fisheye, there's the Horseman 08x SUPERWIDE which gives you crazy barrel distortion. And talk about specialty lenses, the MiniDigi AF5.0 lets you capture super-wide and macro photos with the toy-like Rollei MiniDigi AF5.0.

Experiment with a few of these converters and then collect all seven. They won't break the bank or take up too much room in your camera bag.

Cost: $60-$120
