Leica M8
No recent camera has sparked as much lust as the newly released Leica M8. Despite some out-of-the-gate problems with design, Leica fans worldwide have been clamoring for a true digital camera that looks, feels and acts like a Leica. For the most part, the company delivered with the M8, a camera that feels unmistakably “right” in the hands. The M8 is made for the photographer who’s dedicated to slowly crafting the perfect image (or who wants to travel the world with the smallest-sized pro gear possible). This true rangefinder camera accepts all Leica M-series lenses and captures images using a 10.3 megapixel sensor and a body that’s about as manual as you can get. There may be faster, lighter and higher-resolution digital cameras, but because the original Leica was the first 35mm film camera, none is so instantly recognizable as being part of photographic history.
