Epson Stylus Photo R2400
If you’re on a budget but still want a professional printer that’s wide enough to generate wallpaper, the Epson Stylus Photo R2400 is your best bet. Not officially a professional model, the R2400 offers pro features and speed, able to print a full 11 x 14-inch print in less than two minutes. It’s based on the same Ultrachrome K3 inkset as the Epson 3800 but prints only up to 13 inches wide. At less than $900, the R2400 has found its way into a variety of studios, serving as both a quick contact sheet printer and a main machine for small-sized prints. It’s a cost-efficient option for the photographer who wants to create great-looking images but doesn’t want to invest in a printer that will turn out wall-hanging-sized output.

Retail price: $850
