DXO OPTICS PRO

Sept 18, 2007

This software is designed to improve image quality of Digital SLRs and non-SLR digicams. Its useful correcting features include Color Balance and Color Rendition profiles, where the color profile of one camera can be applied to images taken with another. You can also correct perspective and proportions of 3-D objects taken with wide-angle lenses. DxO automatically corrects lens distortion, vignetting, lens softness and chromatic aberrations. The software cleverly considers the variable impact optical flaws have on each point of the image, and so adapts the correction to each pixel. Photographers can apply DxO’s image correction tools to RAW or JPEG files from within the popular application.

Retail price: $79
