ADOBE BRIDGE

Adobe Bridge

Bridge is part of the Adobe Creative Suite (CS), and is primarily an organizational program. Accessible from other components of Adobe’s Creative Suite, it can be used as a stand-alone application or as a floating palette. From within Photoshop, Bridge provides centralized access to project files, applications and settings showing images in differently sized thumbnails, slide shows or lists. When first introduced, Bridge significantly altered the way many creatives used their systems. Clear previews of the many files on the system, with relevant info intact, took the pain out of searching through a sea of versions for one particular one. This superb browser is found in Photoshop’s main menu, so there is no need to leave the main application. To many, Bridge has become the ultimate browser/organizer, offering an advanced search facility by shot name or number, camera used, script dialogue, images with certain Pantone colors, fonts, or even by comment.

Retail price: Bridge is a free component within Adobe Photoshop CS2, Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2 and GoLive CS2.
