NIKON'S CAPTURE NX

Sept 18, 2007
Capture NX is Nikon’s image editing software for photographers shooting with NEF (RAW) file format. The company prides itself on a simple user interface, and simplified layering and masking techniques. As you would expect from an advanced browser, traditional tools like brush, lasso, marquee and gradient are included. At Capture NX’s heart is the U Point™ technology from Nik software, in which unique Control Points let you isolate a selected area within the image for enhancement. Clicking on a control point on one area enables control over its characteristics, while a simple click on other areas prevents them from being affected. A history list, called an “edit list,” records all actions applied and each step can be changed at any time. Like Aperture, Capture NX uses non-destructive image editing, which means your original data remains intact, regardless of the changes applied.
