Canon is more invested than ever in protecting photogs’ copyrights. The camera manufacturer has filed for a patent that watermarks the iris of the snapper’s eye and embeds this biological identifier as metadata into every photograph that person takes. The United States has added Canada to its list of the biggest offenders of U.S. copyright law. China and Russia are already on the list.
