Kirk Action Grip

Kirk Enterprises is the latest company to modify its products to meet the demands of the burgeoning HD-DSLR movement. Previously designed as a flash bracket system, the AG-1 Action Grip from Kirk is now able to also hold a shotgun microphone to provide sound for HD video.

According to Kirk, the idea to change the grip to add mic support came from a customer.

“We’ve added a threaded rod and knurled locking ring to the top of the Action Grip, thus allowing hot shoe attachments of a flash or shotgun mic,” explained Jeff Kirk, President of Kirk Enterprises.

“The AG-1 is ultra-lightweight, balanced and now, so flexible it’s really a joy to work with. It’s especially nice for guys who use digital cameras with high-def video capabilities.”

The AG-1 Action Grip is made from aluminum and stainless steel to maintain its light weight and durability.

The new attachment uses a ¼ x 20 stud with a knurled-knob locking ring mounted on top of a comfy foam-padded handle. As previously, the AG-1 can mount to any camera or tripod using an Arca-style mounting plate.
